Future Energy Global has announced four senior appointments spanning fuel procurement, sustainability, finance and technology as it expands its sustainable aviation fuel business.

The Ireland-based company named Thorsten Lange Chief Procurement Officer, Angela Foster Rice Chief External Affairs and Sustainability Officer, Diarmuid Hyde Chief Financial Officer and Ed Dowding Chief Technology Officer in a 15 September announcement.

Lange previously led Neste’s Renewable Aviation business, leaving in 2023. His new responsibilities include evaluating suppliers, structuring offtake agreements and overseeing traceability standards for the environmental attributes FE Global transacts.

Foster Rice spent 16 years at United Airlines in environmental legal and sustainability roles. Her subsequent experience includes LanzaJet, Everland and Pachama. At FE Global, she will oversee engagement with policymakers and strategic partners.

Hyde brings an aviation-finance background that includes 25 years at aircraft lessor GECAS. The appointments were disclosed in the company’s announcement of its expanding team.

Why these roles matter

For SAF buyers and producers, a transaction has to answer several different questions at once. Is the supplier credible? What is each party committing to purchase or deliver? How will the agreement handle uncertainty? What evidence supports the environmental claim?

Procurement, finance, policy and technology expertise each address part of that task. Bringing them together is commercially significant, although appointments alone cannot establish that a business has solved the underlying challenges.

The test will be what the team delivers: agreements that buyers can rely on, commitments that suppliers can act on and records that allow environmental claims to be checked.

For readers following the people shaping SAF, that provides a useful way to assess the next chapter. The job titles tell us where responsibility sits. The resulting contracts and verified outcomes will show what that responsibility produces.
